We are pleased to inform you that the 55th Asia Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health 2024 will be held from 23rd to 25th October 2024 at BEXCO, Busan, South Korea. The conference theme is “Public Health: Shifting Paradigm for Future Society and Community”.
The Young Investigator Travel Award (YITA) is aimed at supporting promising investigators in conducting high-quality research in the field of public health. The recipients will be chosen by appointed panels of esteemed experts in their fields.

Benefits

Successful applicants will be reimbursed up to USD1000 to cover for:

  • Economy-class round-trip tickets,
  • Three nights of budget accommodation, all successful recipients must attend the pre-conference workshop (the relevant workshop will be notified in due course),
  • Waived registration fee for the recipient.

* Participants will need to plan for their own flight tickets and accommodations and be reimbursed at the conference.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the YITA, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Institutional affiliation: The applicant must be a faculty member or a currently registered student of a APACPH member institution.
  • Accepted Abstract: The applicant must have their abstract accepted for a presentation at the APACPH Conference. The applicant should be the first author and presenter.
  • Full-time student for a Master or Doctoral degree in Public Health or a relevant undergraduate major; OR junior professional/academic whose specialty or research interest is in Public Health or related fields and working experiences of less than 5 years.
  • Less than 35 years of age by the date of commencement of APACPH conference

Application materials

To apply for the YITA, please prepare the following documents:

  • For students, an official letter to prove student status OR a recommendation letter from the academic advisor.
  • For Junior Professional / Academic applicants, a copy of their curriculum vitae and a resume highlighting their contribution to public health and their main research publications.
  • Abstract Number: Include the number assigned to your accepted abstract for the 55th APACPH Conference in Busan, South Korea.
  • Personal statement: Prepare a half-page (300 words) write-up outlining your potential contribution to public health research. Highlight the significance of your research and how it aligns with the goals of the YITA.

Grant Program

Grant Program supports promising researchers in conducting excellent public health research, enabling their participation in the 55th APACPH Conference.

Eligibility

Applicants must have their abstract accepted for oral presentation at the 55th APACPH Conference when applying. The applicant should be the first author and the presenter.
